Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: May 2, 2026
Welcome to drmelanie-ot.com (the "Site"), operated by Melanie Inouye, Occupational Therapy ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Informational Purposes Only
All content on this Site, including text, articles, blog posts, downloadable handouts, and other resources, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It reflects general information about occupational therapy and neurodivergence and is not tailored to any individual's circumstances.
2. No Clinical Advice and No Therapeutic Relationship
The content on this Site does not constitute medical, psychological, occupational therapy, or other professional advice, and it is not a substitute for individualized care from a qualified professional. Reading this Site, contacting us through it, submitting a consultation or service request, or downloading resources does not create a therapist-client, provider-patient, or any other professional relationship between you and Dr. Melanie Inouye. A professional relationship begins only after we have completed a separate intake, a signed service agreement, and any required informed-consent process. It does not begin simply by submitting a form or request through the Site.
Always seek the advice of a qualified health provider with any questions you have about a medical or mental health condition. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read on this Site.
3. Not for Emergencies
The Site is not designed for and must not be used for medical or mental health emergencies. If you are experiencing a crisis or think you may harm yourself or others, do not use this Site. Call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room. Messages sent through the Site are not monitored in real time and will not receive an immediate response.
4. Communications Through the Site
Any message you send through our contact form or by email is not confidential and not secure. Please do not include sensitive personal or health information in these communications. Submitting a contact form or consultation request does not guarantee a response or acceptance as a client, and any response does not constitute clinical advice.
Descriptions of services on this Site are provided for general information only. Availability, fees, and the terms of any care are discussed and agreed upon separately, outside the Site, as part of the intake and agreement process. Payment is not collected through the Site.
5. No Guarantees
Occupational therapy outcomes vary from person to person. Nothing on this Site is a promise or guarantee of any particular result. Individual experiences described on the Site, including any testimonials, are not a guarantee that you will experience the same outcome.
6. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, all content on this Site, including text, logos, articles, blog posts, and downloadable handouts, is owned by or licensed to Dr. Melanie Inouye and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may view the content and download or print handouts and resources for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, modify, or use any content for commercial purposes, or remove any copyright or attribution notices, without our prior written permission.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
Use the Site in any way that violates any applicable law or regulation;

8. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or resources provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those third-party sites. Accessing them is at your own risk, and their own terms and policies apply.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that the information on it is current or complete.
10. Limitation of Liability

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dr. Melanie Inouye from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or the Site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California.
